VICTOR Y H YU FELLOWSHIP
RITCHIE CENTRE FOR BABY HEALTH RESEARCH
The VICTOR YU FELLOWSHIP is created to honour the outstanding contributions of Professor Victor Yu over more than 30 years to improving the health and life prospects of infants
The Fellowship was announced by Professor Richard Larkins, Vice Chancellor and President - Monash University on 13th December at the Festschrift to celebrate Professor Yu’s outstanding career.
VICTOR YU FELLOWSHIP
The VICTOR YU FELLOWSHIP was created by a substantial personal gift from Professor Victor Yu, who identified the need for financial support to promote research in perinatal medicine and science.
The VICTOR YU FELLOWSHIP will be offered, on a competitive basis, to suitably qualified University graduates to pursue research at the Ritchie Centre for Baby Health Research in areas relating to the growth, health and well-being of babies, infants and children. The mission of the Ritchie Centre for Baby Health Research is to enhance the lives of babies by improving their health through greater knowledge of their development before and after birth.
Through the VICTOR YU FELLOWSHIP, the Ritchie Centre aims to further its mission objectives in conducting clinical and basic science research, so increasing the body of knowledge relating to normal and abnormal growth and development of babies before and after birth. The Fellowship will be advertised nationally and internationally, and will provide support for 3 years.
The Fellowship aims to:
- Attract outstanding graduates to the area of perinatal and paediatric health research
- Enable high quality clinicians or scientists to conduct research of a standard which is nationally and internationally excellent
- Foster an intellectual environment that will promote and enhance the research and intellectual skills of early career clinicians and scientists wishing to make research a key element of their careers
- Enhance the success of younger clinicians in a professional stream in which advancement is based on research experience and productivity
- Encourage the rapid translation of research into clinical practice
- Develop academic and/or clinical knowledge and practice in the Fellow’s country of origin
Congratulations on an outstanding career
