CNSBio has been established to combine the expertise in pain medicine and palliative care within the Department of Anaesthesia under the leadership of Prof Colin Goodchild with novel systems for the evaluation of existing and new pharmaceutical compounds for application in the treatment of neuropathic pain. The company is developing its own intellectual property as a lead compound currently in phase II clinical trials, plus is evaluating a portfolio of novel compounds from Amrad under an option arrangement. Longer term the company intends to apply this platform to the development of novel pain therapies through both internal discovery and partnered programs.
