Direction of human embryonic stem cells down a prostatic lineage
We have recently created a mouse model of human prostate by directing human embryonic stem cells down the prostatic lineage. This novel model will be used to test how different hormones and environmental factors influence the transition from healthy to diseased prostate. The techniques used in this project will include microdissection of mouse prostate lobes, tissue culture and tissue recombination of human embryonic stem cells, histology and immunohistochemistry.
