Vitrification Workshop 17-18 July, 2009
Vitrification has been adopted by several leading Australian IVF clinics and has shown a marked improvement in frozen embryo transfer results. This one and a half day workshop is designed for research and clinical embryologists who wish to improve their understanding of vitrification both theoretically and practically.
The three workshops hosted by MIMR were attended by embryologists from all Australian states and countries as diverse as South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil and Indonesia.
MIMR is pleased to announce the next Vitrification Workshop is taking place 17-18 July, 2009.
The workshop provides:
Workshops are held in the EPRD laboratories at MIMR.
There are two parts to the Vitrification Workshop program:
1. Practicals
- Video demonstrations of vitrification
- Preparation of media for vitrification and thawing
- Hands-on, one-on-one training for vitrification and thawing of mouse embryos
- Independent practical skills training in vitrification, thawing and culturing of embryos
- Mouse embryos of all stages and mouse and sheep oocytes available
2. Lectures & discussion groups
- Theory of vitrification and slow cool freezing; the important differences
- Recent clinical experiences and success stories with embryo vitrification
- Media and devices available for vitrification: knowing what is important
