• Devising a targeting strategy in consultation with the client
• Building the targeting vector using the ET system of homologous recombination (Gene Bridges ) and C57/B6 derived BAC clones 
• Targeting via homologous recombination in C57/B6 embryonic stem cells
• Selection and screening for targeted embryonic stem cell clones
• Confirmation and karyotyping of targeted clones
• Microinjection of targeted clones into blastocysts
• Generation of chimeric mice
• Breeding of chimeras to obtain germ line transmission of the targeted allele
