Be involved in exciting Translational Research
We are after a motivated researcher who can lead the laboratory work in an exciting collaboration between a scientist/clinician, Dr Stephen Tong, and the CCR head, Professor Bryan Williams. Planned are a series of studies if successful, could translate to improvements in bedside care in a reasonably short timeframe.
We are exploring different ways to cure ectopic pregnancies without the need for surgery. This still remains a life-threatening medical emergency as they can cause catastrophic exsanguination if they erode into blood vessels. We plan to explore three ways disrupt ectopic pregnancies in vitro, then in vivo: gene knockdown technology, monoclonal antibodies against Epidermal Growth Factor, and the packaging of methotrexate in a novel targeting delivery system. We also have other clinically orientated projects that we would like the successful applicant to be involved in.
We are after a motivated researcher officer skilled in a number of laboratory techniques and wants to undertake clinically orientated bench-side research. We need someone with the ability and confidence to work independently and to be able to troubleshoot technical matters.
