Monash University has a strong commitment to capturing value from its research in terms of both potential financial returns and in the transfer of its technology to the broader community. This is particularly relevant for the Monash Institute of Medical Research where technologies may be developed from the laboratory stage through to clinical evaluation and beyond towards product outcomes of diagnostic or therapeutic potential.

Promising technologies are often developed in partnership with investors in start-up companies building on the research base and capabilities within the Institute. Beyond such developments, we also seek collaborative research and development opportunities with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.
