Dr Ashley Mansell
Dr Mansell completed his PhD at Trinity College Dublin in 2002 where he investigated bacterial-induced inflammation. He was recruited to MIMR to form a research group to investigate the role of Toll-like receptors (TLR) in innate immunity.
Dr Mansell currently holds an NHMRC RD Wright Fellowship and NHMRC grants. His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of TLR signal transduction and how dysregulation or manipulation of these pathways may lead to chronic inflammatory diseases.
Dr Mansell has been invited to present his work at both national and international meetings and has publications in prestigious journals such as Nature Immunology, Nature and the Journal of Biological Chemistry. He has extensive collaborations with both national and international research groups.
Dr Mansell initiated the formation of the Australian TLR Research Network and organized the inaugural national TLR meeting, called TLROZ2007.
