Dr Bernadette Scott
Dr Bernadette Scott undertook her PhD at the University of Melbourne and then trained at the Basel Institute for Immunology, Switzerland and the Scripps Research Institute in California where she worked on models of T-cell tolerance using transgenic technology. On returning to Australia, Dr Scott worked at the University of Western Australia and developed new mouse models to study the immune response to cancer, with a particular interest in malignant mesothelioma.
Dr Scott has a long-standing interest in T-cells and tumour immunology. Recently, she has undertaken studies utilising ES cells for macrophage differentiation and is currently developing this model system for use in the delivery of therapeutic molecules to the sites of solid tumours.
She has 39 publications in peer-reviewed journals including Nature, Journal of Experimental Medicine, Immunity, EMBO J and PNAS and has published 4 book chapters.
