Professor Paul Hertzog

Director, Centre for Innate Immunity & Infectious Disease

Professor Paul Hertzog is the Director of the Centre forInnate Immunity & Infectious Disease and a Principal Research Fellow of the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia. Amongs his scientific achievements are publications in the highest ranking journals including Cell, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Blood, Journal of Biological Chemistry and Journal of Immunology, plus contributing many book chapters and invited reviews.

Professor Hertzog is a member of the Council of the International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research and has been an invited speaker at local and international scientific meetings. He has had long-standing collaborative projects with pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.Profesor Hertzog is a holder of an NH&MRC Program grant, received a Co-operative Research Centre on Chronic Inflammatory Diseases, and a grant from the National Institutes of Health in the USA. In addition, he acts as a consultant to Australian and international biotechnology companies and government strategic bodies.
