Dr. Luk Rombauts, M.D, Ph.D., FRANZCOG, CREI
Dr. Rombauts began his career at the Leuven Institute of Fertility and Embryology in Belgium. In 1998 he was appointed as Senior Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University.
Dr. Rombauts is the Clinical Director of Monash IVF, where he directs clinical research projects and has a special interest in mechanisms of embryo implantation. He also heads the Monash University team developing the Virtual Hysteroscopy Simulator and is currently researching endometriosis and female infertility.
At Monash Medical Centre Dr Rombauts is a specialist consultant in the Reproductive Biology Unit and is a Reproductive Microsurgeon. He is accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists as a training supervisor for the Certificate of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (CREI).
In 2002, Dr. Rombauts co-founded AWARE (Australian Working-party to Advance Research into Endometriosis) of which he is the current chairman. He is also a Fotheringham Research Fellow and a Sylvia & Charles Viertel grant holder.
