Dr Mandar Joshi completed his Masters degree in Pharmacology at the University of Pune, India in 1998.
Whilst working as a Junior Research Scientist at Wockhardt Research Centre (India), Dr Joshi was offered a research assistantship to undertake PhD studies in the US. Dr. Joshi completed his PhD at The Ohio State University in 2005 with his dissertation topic ‘Mechanisms of nitric oxide control in cardiovascular diseases’.
On completion of his PhD, Dr. Joshi worked as a Post-Doc research fellow at the Centre for Cardiovascular Medicine at Columbus Children’s Research Institute where during this time he co-investigated 3 externally funded project grants.
In early 2009, he was awarded the first ever Victor Yu fellowship to pursue research at The Ritchie Centre.
Dr. Joshi's overall research goal is to investigate mechanisms of disease for rational improvements in therapy. His current research interests involve understanding the contributions oxidants and inflammatory pathways in the initiation and progression of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases.
