Studying at MIMR: how to apply

Bachelor of Science (Honours)

You must meet the requirements of the Department in which you have majored, this is usually a Distinction grade average (70%), or above, in 24 points of studies at level three. The coursework component of your Honours year will be run by the Department you are majoring in, your research component can be carried out at MIMR.

The Honours application form can be downloaded. The form will have space for 2-3 projects to be selected in order of preference. Most Departments have their own ‘Honours Expression of Interest’ forms available from their website or Honours Coordinator.

Take the Honours application form to your prospective supervisor to sign. They may also want to see a copy of your academic transcript. You will need to inform your potential supervisor in which order of preference you are listing his/her project

The form must be completed and returned to the Faculty of Science for Monash students in early November. Check the Faculty website for the exact date.

For further information regarding enrolment contact the Honours Coordinator in your Department or the MIMR's BSci (Hons) Coordinator, A/Prof David Walker.
