A range of on-site services are available at Monash campuses. Depending on your work location this may include on-site gym, pool, bookshop, childcare, health service, food outlets, bank, post office, Oxfam and more. Staff can participate in cycling, yoga, pilates, aerobics and other classes before work, during lunchtime and after work at our Clayton, Caulfield and Peninsula campuses. There is also a gym located on site at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton, for staff use.

3. Salaries

Monash offers a range of competitive salaries. Salaries are negotiated under the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and are subject to incremental increases annually for most staff.

4. Superannuation

Monash staff members typically receive superannuation contributions of either 9 percent or 17 percent, depending on the tenure and fraction of appointment.

5. Salary Packaging

A range of salary packaging options are available to staff including superannuation, laptops/portable computers, Monash University gym membership and Monash University childcare centre fees.

6. Car leasing

Novated car leasing is also available to eligible staff.

7. Leave

A wide range of leave options are available to Monash staff. A voluntary reduced working year scheme is also available to staff who wish to extend their leave options.

8. Staff development and learning

MIMR has a strong commitment to staff development and learning through Monash University’s Staff Development Program.

9. Library access

As a staff member you have full access to extensive libraries and learning materials through the Monash University Library. MIMR staff and students also have access to the MMC library on Level 2.

10. International opportunities

Monash University offers mobility programs that allow staff to travel both internationally and around Australia for intellectual and professional development. Staff can choose to visit our campuses in Australia, Malaysia and South Africa, our centre in Prato and other leading organisations around the world.

11. Recognition of prior service

In some circumstances prior service is recognised for long service leave and sick leave purposes. You may be eligible if you have worked for an Australian University or public service, the CSIRO or other recognised institution.

12. Supporting parents at work

Monash University supports six childcare centres across four of its campuses. Monash also provides a school holiday program at the Clayton campus. Monash University has a range of flexible work policies to support parents at work. Generous parental leave options are available to staff. For the birth mother with 24-months or more continuous service this includes maternity leave at full pay for the first 14 weeks and 60 percent pay for the remaining 38 weeks (total 12 months paid maternity leave).
Spouse/domestic partners are also eligible for some paid and unpaid leave options.

13. Parking and transport

Parking arrangements will vary depending on your work location however most locations have on-campus permit parking. Parking fees can be salary packaged.
Monash Medical Centre, Clayton has two parking locations along Browns Road for a minimal fee to staff which can be salary packaged. There is also a shuttle bus that runs on a roster system every 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon. The closest bus stop to the MIMR building is outside E Block (near the gym). Another stop is located at the Level 2 MMC exit, at the front of the hospital.
Free shuttle buses run between campuses, and there are many public transport options to choose from.

14. Health, wellbeing and occupational health and safety

Monash University strives to provide a healthy and safe work environment for staff and has a dedicated unit to promote a proactive safety culture within the University. We encourage our staff to pursue a healthy balance between work, family and other commitments. 16. Sport at Monash

The University also has a wide range of sporting facilities and services. Each year the University also participates in a number of major sporting events.
