The Women in Scientific Excellence (WISE) program brings together women who value wisdom and learning and recognize the enormous contribution young scientists can make, given the right support, in the early stages of their career. The WISE program is designed to provide a permanent and substantial funding base for the Monash Institute of Medical Research and to provide annual Awards to recognize outstanding scientific students.

The support of the WISE program will enable these talented young scientists to maximize their potential at one of Australia’s leading centres of scientific excellence - Monash Institute of Medical Research.

A Wise Institute
Monash Institute of Medical Research or MIMR (formerly known as Monash Institute of Reproduction and Development) is proud to have developed a program that fosters the careers of young scientists in medical research.

This dynamic organization, the fastest growing medical research institute in Victoria, is an ideal environment for aspiring young scientists. Since it began in 1991, the Institute has gained wide international recognition and the achievements of its researchers, has lead to vital developments in the medical sciences and patient care around the world.

MIMR is dedicated to taking basic biomedical discoveries from the scientific bench to the patient’s bedside and then onto the wider community. Institute researchers, clinicians, and biotechnology experts work together to take valuable biomedical discoveries through various stages of development to commercial reality.

MIMR has much to offer young scientists at the early stages of their career.
